Michael I always look forward to reading your newsletters but never did I expect to read what I have just read . You come from an amazing family with parents who have lead you all in faith. The strength and resilience and faith in God is so evident in this heartfelt and authentic account of what your sister and family have endured over the last few months. I wish your sister good health - I feel humbled by her acceptance of what she had to face .
Michael, your wisdom at such a young age has me in awe and you speak in a way far beyond your years. Everything you have written resonates so much with my own beliefs. God is with us always and guides us to where we need to be and where we can make a difference to others. Love to you and your family in these not so easy times where we are faced with our own mortality. Georgie is in my prayers and send hugs to your folks too.
Great post, written with great empathy and love for your sister and God.
This post is exactly what Paul meant when he said we can encourage each other in our trials.
The following paraphrase of 2Corinthians 1:3-7 expresses the intent of these verses:
Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all mercies and the God of all encouragement;
Who encourages us in all our troubles that we may be able to encourage others which are in any trouble through the encouragement wherewith we ourselves are encouraged by God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our encouragement also abounds by Christ.
And whether we be troubled it is for your encouragement and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be encouraged it is also for your encouragement and salvation.
And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing that as you are partakers of the troubles, so shall you also be of the encouragement. (2Cor 1:3-7)
