I am a South African currently studying law at the University of Cape Town. I am passionate about literature, philosophy, and cold ones.
When GK Chesterton was asked by the London Times to write a ten-thousand-word essay on what’s wrong with the world, he wrote back with, “Dear Sir, I am.”
I believe that I have found what is right with the world in a man who was a carpenter, Jesus Christ, and I therefore write so that some might come to know Him. And so that those who know Him might come to know Him differently.
Stories from the Bible and authors like Hemingway, Lewis, Dostoevsky, Chesterton, and Steinbeck offer us all the wisdom and encouragement in the world. This is needed today more than ever.
Today we find ourselves riding at the crest of literature’s wave, and it has started breaking. The job of the writer then, is to take this wealth of knowledge and write about books with contemporary relevance.
My aim is to write about what is right in the world from the people who have come before us.
My blog includes two newsletters: ‘The Greats’, which include book reviews, Biblical commentaries, and other pieces on inspirational sources. And ‘Testimonies’, which are my personal experiences of God’s truth at work in the world.
I recently started an interview section on my blog where I have conversations with South African Christian icons. This is to encourage people in their faiths, and to show you that you walk the road with others.
I would appreciate it if you could share my content with someone who might be interested!
